This is a lovely Victorian two piece set, perfect for period costuming or even study. The bodice features a front and back yoke, trimmed with a ruffle and black velvet ribbon lines to frame the neck. The lining is a rust coloured linen, with heavy boning to provide structure. There is a front lining panel that hooks into the right side with a series of hooks and eyes, and the left side closes to the side seam and up over the shoulder, with another set of hooks and eyes. The sleeves are gathered to cuffs, trimmed in two rows of black velvet. The back has rows of pleats and the hem is raw and uneven.

The skirt is long and sweeping, featuring a gathered tier at the hem. It closes with a hook and eye at the side.

CONDITION: Fair condition overall. There are a number of stains and discolouration throughout. There is a tear in the left sleeve, and a tear in the fabric of the right side of the bodice at the waist. A few tears in the fabric underneath the right arm as well and the hem is raw and has a bit of fraying. The skirt has some large stains but overall is very wearable.
